Since this is my first post, let me tell you a little about my path.  I'm a wife, mom, and grandma.  I've been married 34 years to my best friend and high school sweetheart, Tim.  My kids are grown. My son, James, is a football coach in Houston and my daughter, Christa, is a nurse in Tulsa.  My granddaughter Chloe is my joy!

Five years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Wegener's Granulomatosis.  This disease nearly got me in 2010.  My husband Tim got on the internet and found an experimental treatment that I got approved for and I was spared.  This is important, because it is what lead me to Paper Art.  I am definitely not as active as I used to be.  In fact, I'm still down more than up, but this creative outlet has given me hope and joy.  It has become my beauty from ashes and a way that I can share, create, and give back in my own way and time.

Through a friend at my church, I met a lovely woman, Dalene Wells, who is a Close To My Heart Demonstrator.   Through Dalene, I began to learn some stamping skills.  I moved to Edmond, Ok in 2010 and my health battle double downed.  However, God blessed me with doctors there that were doing the treatment Tim found.  I began to get a little better and another church friend, lead me to My Hearts Fancy in OKC.  I began weekly art classes taught by Lisa Bruno, a lovely and creative woman.  These classes began to add beauty and friendship back to my life.  My artwork progressed and I was published in Stampers Sampler 2013 Spring Edition.

I went to Michael's Craft Store to have my artwork and article framed.  They hired me as a Paper Arts instructor and I began to meet other women who shared my interest in paper art.  I decided for my health reasons that I needed more control over my schedule so I joined Dalene as a Close to My Heart Demonstrator.  I can create on my own schedule and share my talent with others.

I am intending in this blog to share my art and my journey down this path.

  1. I have another very good friend who suffers with Wegener's. I know what you are up against, and it makes me all the more in awe of everything you do. You are amazing!
